Learn Something New this Summer with Continuing Education at Trent University
Registration now open for online courses and workshops in American Sign Language, Wildlife Photography and Painting
Try something new with an online course or workshop through Continuing Education at Trent University this summer.
Registration is now open for evening courses and workshops for community members looking to build new communication skills through American Sign Language (ASL), get creative with painting, wildlife photography and ecotourism, or hone a new set of professional skills.
“This summer we have a selection of classes and workshops specifically designed for online learning,” says Dr. Michael Eamon, director of Continuing Education at Trent University and principal of Catharine Parr Traill College. “Try your hand at American Sign Language or enroll in one of our painting workshops. We hope the diverse range of affordable classes offer something new to brighten your day, connect with new people, and a means to expand your mind.”
Summer courses include: American Sign Language 1 and 4; Wildlife Photography and Ecotourism; Painting on a Mason Jar/Wine Glass; Acrylic Wildflowers and Honey Bees; Paint Outdoors in Watercolour; and Bullying, Violence and Harassment in the Workplace. All courses and workshops are offered online via Zoom, and include dedicated support from local instructors Jennifer Endicott, Lydia Dotto, Sarah Jessup and Valerie Kent.
Registration for all courses and workshops is available at trentu.ca/continuingeducation. ASL courses begin July 6 or July 8 and are $250 (including HST) for an eight-week series, and weekend workshops offered throughout July and August start at just $35 (including HST), plus appropriate materials.
