Through a unique academic mentorship agreement, Trent University and Chitkara University will provide students with the opportunity to attain a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from Trent in Canada while spending the first two years of the program studying close to home in India.

Under this model, for the first two years of the program students will study an applied Canadian curriculum at Chitkara, a leading private university in India, before moving to Canada to complete their four-year B.B.A. degree in the School of Business at Trent.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with leading higher education institutions in India, such as Chitkara University," says Glennice Burns, associate vice president of International at Trent University. "Working together, we will provide more opportunities to international students in India, who will embrace their future in a global arena."

“This agreement is a step forward in our mission to bring the best global opportunities for our students,” adds Dr. Madhu Chitkara, pro-chancellor of Chitkara University. “Our aim is to provide students, who wish to pursue their careers abroad, a hassle-free platform to live their dreams. The students will be taught under a professional environment by experienced faculty so as to prepare them for brilliant careers across the globe.”

An added benefit of the groundbreaking agreement is a 70% cost savings in international tuition fees for Indian students interested in studying abroad. Students will also be eligible to apply for and secure a three-year post-study work permit in Canada after graduating from the program, gaining Canadian work experience.

Within the Trent School of Business, students can specialize their B.B.A. degree in marketing and consumer culture, entrepreneurship, human resource management, information systems and
e-commerce, and finance. Guaranteed hands-on experience is also provided for students through 100 hours of placement opportunities with organizations as well as the chance to complete a community-based research project in their final year.
