Are you an animal lover looking to paint your pet’s portrait or take great photos of wildlife? Feeling inspired to try your hand at the art of playwriting? Community members have the opportunity to expand your mind and gain new skills through Trent University’s spring 2021 Continuing Education offerings – all fully online.

Registration is now open for all six and eight-week courses, as well as weekend workshops, which start as early as March 15 and run through to early May and span a variety of topics and interests including the digital world, arts, and humanities, and a popular course in American Sign Language. New for this spring is a course on playwriting taught by Kim Blackwell, managing artistic director of Peterborough County’s 4th Line Theatre.

“It is our sincere wish that the courses and workshops we’re offering this spring will give people a chance to shake off some of the pandemic blues,” says Dr. Michael Eamon, director of Continuing Education at Trent University and principal of Catharine Parr Traill College. “We hope that the diverse selection of affordable classes will offer community members a chance to learn something different or connect with new people virtually.”

In addition to multi-week courses, a variety of weekend workshops, facilitated by members of the community, will provide learners with the chance to get creative with photography and painting, or to gain new skills including rental property renovation and management, mobile apps for exploring nature, problem solving, and leading transformative change.

Registration for all courses and workshops is available online at trentu.ca/continuingeducation. Courses start at $190 (including HST) for the series, and weekend workshops start at just $35 (including HST), plus appropriate materials.
