With its vision of becoming Canada’s premier site for green technology innovation and entrepreneurship, Cleantech Commons at Trent University is aiming to inspire young women entrepreneurs of tomorrow by partnering with StrikeUp 2021, a virtual conference dedicated to providing a forum for growth, mentorship, and financing.

“As part of a comprehensive suite of value-added services, Cleantech Commons will provide aspiring student entrepreneurs with access to mentorship, funding opportunities, business expertise, collaborative co-working spaces, shared labs, and commercialization training for researchers,” says Mr. Martin Yuill, Cleantech Commons executive director.

A key focus of this will be supporting current and aspiring female entrepreneurs in the fast-growing clean technology sector.

“These are the technologies that will help move us closer to a net-zero future and will generate sustainable high-value cleantech jobs for our region,” Mr. Yuill says.

StrikeUP will provide women entrepreneurs with an opportunity to learn from globally renowned Canadian female leaders who share a passion for uniting and strengthening entrepreneurship and women-led networks.

The conference will deliver high-energy, inspiring speakers, who will encourage participants to grow, develop and accelerate their business or business model. It will also provide strategic dialogue and skills development training from industry-leading experts.
