Students and alumni from the Trent University Medical Professional Stream are invited to attend Life After Trent: MPS Edition, a casual yet informative virtual networking session where they will meet experienced alumni, gain insightful advice from the experiences of others in the medical field, and create valuable connections. It’s a great opportunity for professional development.
In this session, we welcome Dr. Geron Bindseil ’03 and Dr. Andressa Lacerda ‘08.
Dr. Geron Bindseil ‘03 is an MRI Physicist at Synaptive Medical, a global medical device and technology company. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Physics from Trent University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Western Ontario. While at Trent his academic excellence was recognized by a Symons Medal, his leadership contributions by a McGraw-hill Ryerson Student Scholarship Award in 2006, and in 2008, he was awarded a prestigious Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). He won this award for academic excellence, research potential and communications & leadership abilities. Today, Geron’s work focuses on the design, development, and commercialization of a new compact MRI scanner for high-performance head imaging, which has recently received FDA and Health Canada clearance. Geron's role touches on electromagnetic hardware engineering, research & development, patent writing, regulatory compliance, and production planning.
Dr. Andressa Lacerda ‘08 is the Vice President of Operations at Synex Medical, developer of innovative health monitoring technology. Andressa holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree with a major in Environmental & Life Sciences, both from Trent University.
