International Guidance Counsellors Visit Trent University
Trent International team hosts a delegation of more than 30 overseas high school guidance counsellors and educational consultants
A group of high school guidance counsellors and educational consultants from around the world visited Trent University at its beautiful Symons campus in Peterborough last week . The delegation’s visit is part of a bus tour of Ontario universities organized by the International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) after their 2019 conference in London, Ontario. Over 30 guests attended a lunch workshop and campus tour that were led by the Trent International team and related departments.
“It is always a pleasure to meet international counsellors from different countries and regions,” said Cath D'Amico, Director of Trent International. “Visiting Trent University and experiencing our campus are always important for first-time visitors, and we value the efforts made by International ACAC (Association for College Admission Counseling) in choosing Trent University as one major stop for its 2019 Counselor Bus Tour.”
There were many highlights throughout the workshop including an overview of Trent University and its admission requirements, as well as a panel discussion with four international students. In the discussion, the students shared their personal experiences as students at Trent University and their future ambitions after convocation.
After the workshop, the guests were given a guided campus tour. It was the first time that the guidance counsellors visited Trent. At the end of the visit, the group shared that they were very pleased with the visit and liked how personal and close-knit the campus is.
About International ACAC:
International ACAC was founded in 1991 (as Overseas ACAC) when a group of primarily European counselors met and approached NACAC about the creation of an affiliate regional organization that would represent overseas counselors.
