#FacesOfTrentU: Trent is ‘Planet Student’
John Bessai, School for the Study of Canada
“Knowledge is created each time students come up with ideas and Trent University is great at encouraging these types of interactions and thinking. Having students breaking down concepts and connecting their ideas is exciting, but you have to figure out how to be engaged.”
John Bessai, a fourth-year Ph.D. student School for the Study of Canada, says Trent University is so devoted to students that he refers to it as ‘Planet Student.’ The University places a strong focus on student education and success through a culture built on seminars, student voices and small classes.
Mr. Bessai says the multidisciplinary School for the Study of Canada helps students better understand the ways in which we communicate and share media.
When he’s not working on his Ph.D. or leading students in engaging and thought-provoking seminars, you can find Mr. Bessai in the library working alongside the view of Otonabee River.
