Trent University Saddened to Learn of the Passing of Marilyn Metcalf

Ms. Metcalf began work at Trent University in 1967

The Trent University community is saddened to learn of the passing of Marilyn Metcalf. Ms. Metcalf began working at Trent University in 1967 and served as a secretary in various departments at Trent including the department of Sociology, Julian Blackburn College, the Careers and Counselling department, Personnel Services and the department of Biology. Ms. Metcalf retired from Trent in 1992.

Below is an excerpt from her obituary notice:

Marilyn Metcalf passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, just seven days prior to her 84th birthday. Beloved wife of Stan for over 65 years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 6 - 9 p.m. at NISBETT FUNERAL HOME, 600 MONAGHAN ROAD S., 705-745-3211.  A Celebration of Marilyn's Life will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 28th, 2017 with visitation one hour prior.  Interment to follow at Warsaw Cemetery. 

The University extends heartfelt sympathies to Ms. Metcalf’s family and friends, and to all who knew her in Peterborough and at Trent University.
