Fundraiser for the Renee Belliveau Memorial Encouragement Prize

Event Details

  • Monday, April 4, 2016
    7:15 PM - 9:00 PM
    Trent University
    Building: Otonabee College
    Room: Wenjack Theatre
    Cost: Admission: $2.00

On behalf of the Forensic Science Society, we encourage students and faculty to partake in the campus-wide Pie-a-Professional fundraiser.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Renée Belliveau Memorial Encouragement Prize. Renée was a fourth-year Concurrent Education student and a proud member of Lady Eaton College who tragically passed away in September.  Two students who need a little encouragement to keep working hard in their final year of the Con-Ed program will each receive $1000 from the Renée Belliveau Memorial Encouragement Prize which will be awarded annually for the next three years. In remembrance of Renée’s encouraging nature and contagious laughter, the Pie-a-Professional event will see nominated professors, teaching assistants, and other Trent professionals pied in the face on stage as a fundraiser in her honour.

Current individuals nominated include Trent University President Dr. Leo Groarke, College Heads Melanie Sedge, Lindy Garneau, Lindsay Morris, and Dr. Michael Eamon, as well as Professor Rhonda Smith, Dr. Andrew Vreugdenhil, and many more. For every $100 raised in their name, the professional will take a pie to the face (President Groarke is valued at $250 per pie).

Containers with each professional’s name will be on display to collect donations at the following times:

March 21st-24th, 11:00-3:00PM in the Gzowski College Atrium

March 28th-April 1st, 11:00-3:00PM at the Otonabee College Tables (near cafeteria)

The event will take place on Monday, April 4th from 7:30-9:00PM in Wenjack Theatre - doors open at 7:15PM. Admission costs $2.00 and raffle tickets will be sold for $1.00 each for those who would like the opportunity to throw the pies.

This event is open to both the Trent community as well as the public.
