Trent Wins Gold at Canadian University Rowing Championships
Mark Basterfield and Brent Holmes Heron Take Home the Win in Heavy Men’s Pair; Robert Baldwin Wins Silver in Heavy Men's Single
At Olympic Basin in Montreal over the weekend, Peterborough natives, Mark Basterfield and Brent Holmes Heron, rowed to victory in the heavy men’s pair division at the Canadian University Rowing Championships. The pair beat out teams from the University of Victoria and the University of British Columbia.
Trent University also added a sliver medal when Robert Baldwin came second in the heavy men's single, just missing gold to the University of Toronto sculler who won the gold medal at the under 23 world championship earlier in the year. In addition, Trent’s men’s eight finished in fourth.
