Forensic Science Camp at Trent Accepting Campers for July 24-29
Imagine... you’ve been called in the middle of the night by the police. There’s been a crime and they need your assistance and expertise to solve the case. Ever wonder what it would be like to be a Forensic Scientist? Well here's your chance!
This summer, once again Trent University is holding the Forensic Science Camp. This camp provides a unique learning environment for children ages 13-17 and involves various enriching hands-on activities and the opportunity to learn from practicing experts in disciplines such as Wildlife Forensics, Forensic Entomology, Forensic Anthropology, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis and much more!
At Trent University’s state-of-the-art DNA laboratory and our very own Crime Scene House, campers will gain firsthand knowledge in how DNA technology and other analytical techniques are used in crime scene investigation.
The Forensic Science Camp is being offered in 2 one-week sessions, with the first session already underway running from Sunday, July 17 to Friday, July 22. We are still accepting campers for the second session running Sunday, July 24 to Friday, July 29. Campers have the option of coming just for the day or staying overnight on the Trent University campus for the full university experience. Full and partial bursaries are available for those campers that demonstrate financial need or academic excellence.
