Trent Walker Wood Foundation Awards
Application for the Walker Wood Foundation Awards in Computer Science, Forensic Science, Kinesiology and Psychology is open March 16 - April 30, 2026 (at midnight) by form submission.

Eligibility Requirements:
A student majoring in Computer Science, Forensic Science, Kinesiology or Psychology (1 award available per Department)
Must be a Canadian citizen
Must demonstrate financial need as per University guidelines (i.e., students must be in receipt of OSAP, Canada part-time student loans, First Nations band funding, or the government financial aid program of their home province)
- Must demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, including but not limited to volunteerism, community participation, and leadership activities

An application form (via weblink above)
A one-page outline of their leadership roles and activities during their degree program time
Selection Process
The student recipients will be accessed and chosen by the faculty’s awards committee and the Financial Aid office, in accordance with relevant University policies.

CCUPEKA Leadership Award https://www.ccupeka.org/leadership-award/
The Canadian Council of University Physical Education and Kinesiology Administrators (CCUPEKA) is pleased to recognize outstanding student leaders.
This award is given annually to a graduating student in Kinesiology to recognize leadership, academic success, and commitment to the professions.
Eligibility Requirements:
- a graduating student in good standing in a CCUPEKA member institution (Trent is a member institution) and studying kinesiology
- has excelled academically, including in courses KINE-4002H, KINE-4190H, and KINE-4710H
- has made significant contributions to the profession in leadership roles during their undergraduate studies
Application Requirements
Students must submit:
- a copy of their unofficial transcript
- a one-page outline of their leadership roles and activities during their degree program time (4 years)
Selection Process
Winning recipient is selected by the faculty awards committee and supported of the Chair or Acting-Chair of Kinesiology.
Physical and Health Education (PHE) Canada Student Award https://phecanada.ca/community/phe-canada-student-award
The PHE Canada Student Award recognizes outstanding undergraduate student leadership in the field of kinesiology.
*** Do not apply on the PHE website; only applications received by the faculty awards committee will be considered.
Eligibility Requirements:
- be in the second, third or fourth year of undergraduate studies in the Trent Kinesiology degree program
- have not previously received the PHE Canada Student Award
Application Requirements
Students must submit:
- a document with their name, year of study and an outline of their leadership in physical health
- a note of support from someone at Trent who can speak to their qualifications for the award

Winning recipient is selected by the faculty awards committee and supported of the Chair or Acting-Chair of Kinesiology.

The CSEP Undergraduate Student Award recognizes the student graduating in that academic year with the highest standing in the scientific portion of the curriculum.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for this award, candidates must have completed their fourth year of the Kinesiology degree program and have completed the requirements to graduate. The student with the top marks in KINE-4005H: Exercise Testing and Prescription in the latest academic year will be awarded.
Application Requirements
There is no application for this award.
Selection Process
The faculty awards committee will review to determine which Kinesiology major has the highest final grade in KINE-4005H (taken in the same year).
