The Trent University Durham GTA Journalism and Creative Writing Program responds to a demand for graduates with both practical experience in media production and highly developed critical thinking and writing skills.
The new (pending ministry approval) Journalism and Creative Writing Program will provide training in narrative techniques, multimodal content creation, and literary journalism alongside traditional journalistic reporting. The Program will prepare students to hone their unique voices and develop a recognizable and reliable public presence on various platforms. Graduates from the JCW will be equipped with transferable skills for sustainable and fulfilling career possibilities that meet the demands of our current moment.
As well as receiving hands-on training with experienced creative writers and journalists throughout their studies, students will gain resume-building skills and opportunities through a full-year field placement in their final year.
