A helpful guide on how to apply for international students
Applying to university is an exciting step to take in your academic journey. Below you will find information about the application process for Trent University.

Step 1: Review our Admissions Requirements and Application Deadline
All international students are required to meet or have the following for admission to any Trent program:
- High School diploma (see Admission Requirements)
- English language proficiency
- Program-Specific Requirements
- Post-Secondary Requirements (see Admission Requirements)
Be sure to also review immigration updates informed by the Government of Canada and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). These updates will provide additional information about study permits and Canada’s current Study Permit Cap, Provincial Attestation Letters (PALs), transferring between institutions, and more.
Undergraduate and Postgraduate Certificate Program Application Deadlines

*Fall (September) intake: Some undergraduate programs may have earlier application deadlines or may fill before the deadline. All international students are strongly encouraged to review program-specific deadlines and apply early.
Please note that not all undergraduate and post-graduate certificate programs are available in Winter and/or Summer sessions. View program descriptions and refer to available start terms through the application available on OUAC or the Trent Applicant Portal .
Summer (May) intake: Limited course offerings. Visit www.trentu.ca/summer for more information on available courses and registration.

Step 2: Submit Your Admission Application Form
- International students applying only to Trent University should create an account and apply through the Trent Applicant Portal.
- International students applying to multiple universities should create an account and apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre.
The OUAC website has many helpful resources such as frequently asked questions, video tutorials and step-by-step guides.

Step 3: Add @trentu.ca to your “Safe Sender” List
Once you submit your application, you will begin to receive emails from Trent’s Admissions Office outlining next steps and other important information concerning your application.
Be sure to add "@trentu.ca" to your 'Safe Senders' list in your email. This helps to ensure that emails from Trent will not be sorted into spam or junk mail. You may want to check your spam or junk mail if you feel you have missed a communication from Trent.
