Discover the complex and diverse history of human activity in the ancient Mediterranean. Move beyond the traditional study of the classical world by exploring the cultures that preceded and developed alongside ancient Greece and Rome. You’ll gain an appreciation not only for the rich and varied cultural landscape of this dynamic region, but also for the ways in which past human activities continue to shape our modern world.

Courses

Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a single- or joint-major Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in Archaeology may graduate with a Specialization in Mediterranean Archaeology if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits:

  • ANTH-AHCL credit consisting of ANTH-AHCL 2205H and 2206H (or AHCL 2200Y)
  • ANTH-AHCL credits from ANTH-AHCL 2201H, 3221H (or 3220Y), 3222H, 3240H, 3250H, 3251H, 3252H, 3275H, 4003H, or 4145H

  • Conduct field work in Ontario, or abroad in places like Belize, Europe, Turkey, North Africa, and more, or right here in Ontario.

Admission Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites
