At Trent University, academics are just the beginning of your university experience. Outside the lecture hall, Trent’s diverse, close-knit community makes it easy to get involved, meet new people and make a positive impact – on and off campus.

Clubs and Groups

Meet new friends and explore your passions by joining one of the nearly 100 student clubs and groups at Trent. From archery and anime to science fiction and skiing – there’s something for everyone. Can’t find a club or group that matches your interests? Trent makes it easy to create your own.

Student government and leadership

Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) in Peterborough and Trent Durham Student Association (TDSA) provide a variety of pivotal services for students, by students. Our student unions help students share ideas and create change while also providing access to health and dental insurance and club sponsorship.

Stand out from the crowd: Co-curricular record

If you’ve taken the time to get involved, volunteer and develop skills outside the classroom, showing your efforts to potential employers is a great way to get your foot in the door. Trent’s co-curricular record acts as an official “transcript,” tracking all of your non-academic activities and accomplishments while at Trent. It includes student leadership, awards, workshops, clubs, groups, and much more.

Leadership Programs

Trent offers a wide range of skillbuilding opportunities that help prepare you for a variety of leadership roles in your community and beyond. Become a peer mentor, orientation leader, or sign up for one of Trent’s leadership certificate programs. Learn more.

Support Systems

Adjusting to university means developing new skills and independence. At Trent, we challenge and support each other – in the classroom and beyond. Colleges, student services and student associations each provide a full range of personal supports all coordinated by Student Affairs. Services include:
