Trent Students Partner with ARAMARK on First Annual Bikes for Tykes Event
Bikes Purchased by ARAMARK Donated to Peterborough Big Brothers and Big Sisters
Trent students in Lady Eaton College (LEC) partnered with ARAMARK to bring some holiday joy to children in the Peterborough community – donating bicycles and accessories to the local chapter of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
On Thursday, December 10 students gathered with members of the ARAMARK management team in the Junior Common Room of LEC to assemble the bicycles before Richard Brown, director of Food Services on campus for ARAMARK and Greg Mountenay, prime minister of Lady Eaton College, delivered the bikes to Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
“We are thrilled to be providing children's bicycles, protective equipment and bicycle locks to deserving children in our community this holiday season,” Mr. Brown said. “Our new annual Bikes for Tykes event is an exciting community building initiative that will give a deserving child the means to access community playgrounds and parks as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle to our youth.”
