University wide phone system outage

Dear Trent Staff and Faculty;

On Sunday April 24th, the University's phone system will be shutdown all day for a major upgrade. The purpose of the upgrade is to replace obsolete equipment and software which is no longer supported by the vendor.

All voice services will be unavailable, including incoming and outgoing calls, internal calling, voicemail, direct dial extensions, and faxing.  Symons, Traill, and Durham campuses are all affected.

The outage will begin at 6:00 am, and continue until approximately 11:00 pm. 

Bringing the voicemail system online will be our first priority, so that callers to the University will not simply reach “dead air” any longer than necessary.

To contact Campus Security during this outage, a temporary number has been assigned to the emergency dispatch centre.  This number is 1-888-802-7659 or 1-613-961-0086.

If you require police, fire, or ambulance, first call 911, then Campus Security.
