ABOUT 

The University of Leeds is a public research university in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Leeds is the eleventh largest university in the United Kingdom by total enrolment and receives over 67,000 undergraduate applications per year, making it the fifth-most popular university in the UK by volume of applications.

Who can apply? 

  • Undergraduate students enrolled in programs lending to the faculty above. 

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative average of 70% to apply. 

  • Please note that subject areas at partner universities may change. 

Academic Information 

How many credits equal a full course-load at Trent? 

  • A standard full-time study load normally consists of 120 credits in one academic year (there are two standard semesters in each academic year). 

  • Course load for one semester is 60 credits = 2.5 Trent credits 

  • Course load for full year is 120 credits = 5 Trent credits

Term Dates 

  • Semester One: October – Mid December 

  • Semester Two: Late January - May 

Tuition/Program Fees 

  • Trent students are responsible to pay their normal Trent tuition fees as a full-time student plus Trent full ancillary fee package (no opt out options while abroad), tuition fees are waived at the host university. 

Housing 

Deadline for applying for on campus accommodation: 

  • Semester One: July 1st, 2024 

  • Semester Two: December 1st, 2024

Additional Fees 

  • Immigration applications, accommodations, meals, flights, travel and health insurance, spending money, etc. 

Financial Support 

  • Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year.  

  • OSAP: Check with our Financial Aid Department regarding OSAP eligibility

  • Trent Academic Scholarship: If you are paying your tuition fees you maybe still eligible for Trent Academic Scholarship during your exchange – Check with our Financial Aid Department for scholarship eligibility 

  • Trent Study Abroad Bursaries: Application Deadline - prior to your departure - For September departure - August 1st: For January Departure - December 1st; up to $3000.
