Høgskulen på Vestlandet (HVL) is one of Norway's largest higher education institutions, serving roughly 17,000 students and employing 1,900 staff. HVL operates across five campuses spread over 400 kilometers along the western coast of Norway: Førde, Sogndal, Bergen, Stord and Haugesund.
HVL offers semester programs and English-taught courses for international students coming from official partner universities across fields like nursing, teacher education, outdoor education, technology, and environmental sciences.

HVL offers "Semester Packages" which are pre-arranged groups of 2-4 individual courses totalling 30 ECTS where schedules and exams align smoothly.
Exchange students can only take courses at one of the five campuses in Bergen, Førde, Haugesund, Sogndal, and Stord.
Courses are distributed by field and location, with outdoor and environmental programs heavily featured in Sogndal, and general/arts/health options across Bergen and other campuses.
Accommodations
On-campus accommodation is available. Exchange students are guaranteed accommodation on campus if they apply by a certain deadline.
