Credit System
17 credit per semester is a full course load. This is usually 5 courses per semester – each worth 3 credits. It also includes a mandatory Japanese language course which is worth 5 credits.

The courses are generally equivalent to 3000 and upper level courses in terms of academic content and amount of work required.
The Asian Studies Program is structured so that most courses are designed to be electives; thus no prerequisites are required. For a few courses, however, it is recommended that students have some level of background in the course discipline.
Students also have the option to participate in an internship at a Japanese business firm, organization or a local school. Exchange students have an opportunity to experience and learn first-hand about the Japanese work environment.
Accommodations
On-campus accommodation is available. Exchange students are guaranteed accommodation and have the option of staying on campus or with a host family.
