Psychotherapy M.Psyt.

Trent’s Master of Psychotherapy equips students with the clinical and theoretical foundations required for psychotherapy practice and registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Delivered through a hybrid model, the program combines online and in-person coursework with supervised clinical placements emphasizing direct client work, therapeutic alliance, and professional identity formation. Develop competence in core psychotherapeutic modalities and evidence-informed practices while preparing to contribute to mental health care in hospitals, community agencies, Indigenous healing centres, post-secondary institutions and private practice.

  • Build clinical expertise through evidence-informed, relational and culturally responsive psychotherapy education.
  • Gain hands-on clinical experience through case-based inquiry, simulation and supervised practicums that together provide 300- to up to 450 direct client contact hours.
  • Learn in a flexible hybrid environment designed to support diverse learners while connecting theory directly to professional practice.

Program Type

Course-Based

This two-year, full-time professional graduate degree prepares students to pursue registration as Qualifying Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario with the CRPO. Complete coursework in ethics, professional practice, assessment, treatment planning and psychotherapy modalities, alongside two supervised practicums and one simulation.

Note: Program is subject to Quality Council and Ministry approvals
