Bachelor of Arts & Science/Medical Sciences: Trent/Swansea Dual Degree

Globalize your degree and earn both a Bachelor of Arts & Science (B.A.S.) and an Honours Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in just four years.

This integrated dual degree program will broaden your areas of expertise as you spend your first two years exploring a range of scientific, social, and humanist theories and issues at Trent. 

From there, you will head to the UK to complete a B.Sc. Honours degree at Swansea University in one of their dedicated medical pathway programs. 

This program is an ideal pathway to becoming a well-rounded and competitive candidate for medical school. Meet the minimum GPA requirements and you automatically earn an interview for admission to Swansea’s prestigious School of Medicine.

  • Build your knowledge base taking courses spanning biology, chemistry, psychology, Indigenous studies, gender and social justice, as well as other science, social science, and humanities subjects at Trent
  • Put theory into practice through lab courses, lectures, and seminars at Trent and Swansea to develop technical skills, critical thinking, good judgement, and other valuable attributes for being a doctor 
  • Refine your expertise in medicine through Swansea University’s medical-focused Bachelor of Science programs, including Applied Medical Sciences, Medical Genetics, Medical Pharmacology, and Population Health
  • Volunteer, join a club, or participate in other extracurricular activities at Trent and Swansea to develop interpersonal skills or gain career-related experience, useful for your applications to professional or graduate programs

If you are coming straight from high school in Ontario or are a recent grad, the general admission requirements are:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites
  • A minimum 70% overall final average
  • ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%

Program specific requirements:

  • A minimum 80% overall final average
