Arts (Honours)

Not sure what to study? No problem. With Trent’s Exploration Year in the Arts, you can sample courses from up to 10 different programs in your first year. This flexible option lets you discover your passions and strengths before deciding on a major. No matter what program you choose, you can still complete your degree in four years.

Plus, you'll have access to Academic Advisors who can help you explore your interests and map out your academic journey. By the end of your first year, you’ll be ready to choose a major that’s right for you.

Develop your creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills and benefit from small classes that promote interactive, hands-on learning.

  • Jump-start your career and get hands-on experience through one of Trent’s 20+ paid co-op streams, available in a variety of Bachelor of Arts programs, including English, Media Studies and Philosophy, to name a few
  • Make your mark and make a difference participating in a community-based research project with a local organization, such as examining accessibility in municipal arts and culture programming
  • Globalize your degree by pursuing one of the many study abroad and international field work experiences in one of 36 countries, all while earning credit toward your Trent degree

If you are coming straight from high school in Ontario or are a recent grad, the general admission requirements are:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites
  • A minimum 70% overall final average
  • ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%
