Your career in medicine starts at Trent in our unique Medical Professional Stream (MPS). Trent’s MPS gives you direction and support throughout your undergraduate degree to prepare you for professional programs, such as medical, dentistry, veterinary, optometry, and pharmacy schools. Here, you will couple a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in almost any academic major with the MPS. Through the MPS, you will have access to mentorship services, volunteer activities, community-based research, experiential learning, MCAT and other admission exams support, as well as medicine-related skill-building opportunities. This one-of-a-kind preparatory support program is all about producing competitive candidates for professional medical programs: high-achieving and well-rounded individuals with foundational expertise from a variety of fields and experiences.

  • Select your major (or joint major) in a B.A. or B.Sc. program of your choice
  • Get personalized guidance and support to select the right courses in your degree program, to help prepare for the MCAT, and start your career in the medical field
  • Boost your chances of entry into medical school in the Caribbean through Trent’s MPS partnerships with St. George’s University Medical School (SGU), the University of Medicine and Health Sciences (UMHS), or Trinity School of Medicine (TSOM)

Admission Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites

Program Requirements:

  • Minimum 80% average for consideration. Appropriate prerequisite courses for the program that you intend to declare as your major in your second year.
  • ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%
