Arts (Honours B.A.)

Become a creative problem-solver by studying across disciplines in the social sciences and humanities to explore different and complementary ways of thinking.

Chart your own academic path with the flexibility to explore a variety of courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences through this first-year pathway. This flexible pathway, which allows you to combine different disciplines and take courses from different degree programs at Trent, is ideal for students looking to explore your academic pathways and degree options  before declaring a major in your second year. Develop your creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills and benefit from small classes that promote interactive, hands-on learning.

Career Experience

  • Jump-start your career and get hands-on experience through one of Trent’s paid co-op streams in Communications or Criminology

  • Make your mark and make a difference participating in a community-based research project with a local organization, such as examining accessibility in municipal arts and culture programming

  • Globalize your degree by pursuing one of the many study abroad and international field work experiences in one of 36 countries, all while earning credit toward your Trent degree

Program Paths

Start in Honours Arts in first year and move into the humanities or social sciences program of your choice in second year. English, Anthropology, Media Studies, Policing & Community Well-Being… choose from a wide variety of B.A. degrees.
