For over 30 years, Dr. Chris Metcalfe has focused his research at Trent on the distribution and toxic effects of contaminants in the environment. His early research focused on the fate and effects of persistent contaminants (e.g., PCBs), but his work then shifted to an emphasis on more water-soluble contaminants, such as pharmaceuticals and personal care products, and new generation pesticides.
