Devin Penner completed his B.A. in Political Science at the University of Winnipeg, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science at York University. His research interests fall mainly in the areas of Canadian politics, political economy and political theory. He has a forthcoming book on Guy Debord and the Situationist International that is entitled Rethinking the Spectacle, and is currently working on a research project on the political economy of philanthropy in Canada.
