Professor Sheldene Simola

Sheldene Simola has worked at Trent since 2007. She teaches and researches in the areas of behavioral business ethics, care ethics and relational cultural theory, and managing for workplace psychological health and wellness.  She also researches in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Her research has been published in many scholarly journals, and throughout her career, Sheldene has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Elliot Jacques Memorial Prize from APA Division 13 for the outstanding article of the year, the Emerald Publishing Literati Network Outstanding Article Award, the Laurier School of Business and Economics Gold Medal awarded to the top graduating student from the M.B.A./M.A.E. programs, and numerous Outstanding or Best Reviewer Awards from Academy of Management Annual Meetings and/or scholarly journals. 

Sheldene has previously served as the Associate Director of the School of Business. 

​Prior to transitioning into a full-time academic position, Sheldene worked for a number of years as a clinical psychologist with adjunct academic appointments. Her teaching and research were in the areas of developmental and clinical psychology; assessment and psychotherapy; and, clinical ethics. She taught in an undergraduate medical school curriculum and post graduate psychiatry program, as well as in undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology.
