The Library Service Desk is your first place to go with any library question. There's always a Library Services staff Associate available at the Service Desk except during limited and extended hours. You can ask us about anything in the library, and we'll connect you with who/where/what you need.
Borrowing Services
The Service Desk looks after anything pertaining to borrowing your library material or obtaining privileges. Services include:
- Borrowing, including renewing, recalling, fines. See the Borrowing Regulations.
- Graduate Student Study Carrels.
- Application for Academic Reciprocal User Membership or Community User Membership privileges.
Reserve Services
The Reserves Collection contains course materials (books, etc.) that are in high demand and so consequently only available on short-term loan (usually 3 hours). See the Reserves Collection webpage.
Interlibrary Loan Services (RACER)
The Interlibrary Loans (ILL) service enhances the resources of Trent University Library by making material available from other libraries, organizations, and document delivery services. See the Interlibrary Loans webpages.
Research Assistance
We can help you locate resources within the library and show how our website links you to them. If your research requires more in-depth help, we'll connect you with your subject librarian.
Group Study room Bookings
We can help you book one of our group study rooms in the library, or you can book online on your own. See the Book a Library Group Study Room webpage.
Graduate Student Study Carrels
Graduate students can reserve a private study carrel for their use. See the Graduate Student Study Carrels page.
