As of Monday, April 26, Trent University Library & Archives (TULA) will offer contact-less curbside pickup services for library materials to Trent students, staff, and faculty until the end of the stay-home order. During this time, there will be no access to Bata Library or the Durham Campus Library & Learning Centre. For full details, please see our page about Trent Library & Archives service during COVID-19.

Course Reserves

At this time, the Library is not lending any Course Reserves items or placing items on reserve.

Instructors are advised to consider using online Leganto Readings Lists as an alternative.

Instructors looking for assistance with Reserves should visit the Submitting Course Reserve Material page.

Students looking for information about accessing Leganto reading lists should visit the Library Guide on this topic.

"Course Reserves" are items requested by instructors, so they are readily available to students in their courses.

  • Normally, these are course readings that support a course, but that are not included in required textbooks. However, instructors are welcome to provide a copy of the course text, if they choose to.
  • In most cases, these items are only available to Trent students, faculty, and staff.
  • Materials are currently restricted to physical items kept behind the Service Desk on short-term loan. In the future, Omni will allow us to link to on online material as well.
  • Course instructors determine what goes on Reserve and whether it has a 3-hour or 2-night loan period.
  • Since this material is often in high demand, high fines are charged on overdue items.
