Information for 2021 and 2020 Graduates
Mask Information for Convocation
Masks will be welcome but optional for convocation ceremonies at Trent Durham June 2 and on our Peterborough campus June 6 - 14, 2022. We respect the decision of students and their guests with regard to their choice on masking for these days of achievement and celebration.
As always, the University continues to monitor conditions and will advise our campus communities of any changes to plans. If you are feeling unwell, please do not come to campus.
Trent University is pleased to announce in-person convocation celebrations for alumni who were recognized virtually through Grad from Your Pad events. The in-person convocation will be held at the Tribute Communities Centre for all Durham GTA graduates, including Master of Management graduates, on June 2 at 10:00 a.m. Alumni who graduated between Fall 2019 and Spring 2021, together with their guests, are invited to attend these ceremonies.
These ceremonies will not be organized by faculty, degree or year. Alums will be given the exciting opportunity to celebrate with their friends, regardless of their majors. Traditional elements like an academic procession and crossing the stage in regalia will still be included.

Things to Remember
For a smooth Convocation experience, please follow the instructions below.
Arrival and Gowning
Please arrive at the Tribute Centre at least one hour before your ceremony with your student card (or government photo ID.) We provide hoods and gowns on the day of your ceremony, you do not need to rent them or bring them with you.
When you arrive at the Centre, please make your way to the lower event level for gowning. Here you will check in with Convocation staff and receive your regalia (gown and hood) for the ceremony. After the ceremony, you can take photos with your family and friends, and return your regalia and pick up your degree on the lower level.
The Tribute Communities Centre is located at 99 Athol Street East, Oshawa, Ontario, approximately ten minutes from the Trent Durham GTA Campus.
Designated accessible parking is available for guests with a valid accessibility permit on Red Tilson Lane which is located on the West side of the venue and can be entered from Bruce Street. These spaces are first-come, first-served and subject to all applicable City of Oshawa accessible parking rules and restrictions. The City of Oshawa offers event parking for a flat rate of $5.00 at Parkade 3 (on Mary Street between King and Bond Streets) and in Lot 16 (on Athol between Celina and Albert Streets.) It is recommended that guests and their graduates park in these lots or in on-street parking.
For further directions and parking information, please visit the Tribute Communities Centre website.
Guests are limited to 6 guests per graduate. Guests do not need to register, there are no tickets, and all seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. The capacity limits are to ensure everyone is comfortable throughout the ceremony. If one of your guests has an accessibility concern, or you have other questions, please contact Kevin Maina (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As guests enter the Centre, they will be directed to the concourse levels of the building to take their seats before the ceremony. Both signage and staff will be available to provide directions and assistance to anyone who needs help
