Academic Achievement Continues to the Rise at Trent Durham GTA
As the Trent Durham GTA campus grows, so too does the academic performance of students. March 4 marked the third annual Academic Achievement Luncheon, celebrating students with a current cumulative average of 80% or higher. The event, organized by Durham staff, honours students who have obtained exemplary grades while balancing all of the other aspects of life that come with being a student.
“Celebrating student academic success at Durham is now a part of our annual awards cycle,” says head of Trent University Durham GTA, Joe Muldoon. “We have seen increasing number of students who have achieved 80% or higher with 20% of the student population in 2019 eligible for the dean's honour roll. This academic success of our students is even more notable when we consider many of our students are managing family obligations, and part time jobs at the same time. I am thrilled to recognize such a great group of students that are eager to learn and challenge themselves.”
This was a noteworthy year for students thriving in their academics. Trent Durham GTA saw a 17% increase in students achieving 80% or higher, a 36% increase in fourth year students achieving 80% or higher, and a 62% increase in students achieving 90% or higher. Among these successes, there was also significant growth in these students becoming academic mentors for a peer support program on campus
