TWSP - Trent Work Study Program
2012/2013 DEADLINE - To be determined
The Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, (MTCU) recently announced they were discontinuing funding for several MTCU funded programs, including the Ontario Work Study program. These changes in the student funding model form part of the Ontario government's new budget plans.
The Financial Aid Office, and the Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) group feel a work study program is vital to the University environment. Students with a financial need must have access to jobs to enable them to contribute to their own education, and gain valuable work experience. Many departments across campus depend on the skills of our students.
For the reasons cited above, we are pleased to offer a new Trent Work Study Program (TWSP). This program will be funded from our general fund for student bursaries. The program will be very similar to the former Ontario Work Study program, with one important difference: the TWSP will be open to all Canadian domestic students who demonstrate a financial need. This includes students from other Canadian provinces.
