On-campus Jobs
Finding an on-campus job is like looking for any kind of job. The first step is to start with a great resume, tailored to the position. All of the on-campus job postings we receive are posted on My Job Board . It's also important to get to know your professors and keep your eyes open for opportunity. Networking and talking to Trent faculty and staff is a great way to hear about potential jobs. Remember to visit the Career Centre and attend our workshops for more info.

OWSP - Ontario Work Study Program
The Ontario Work Study Program provides part-time jobs on campus for Ontario students in financial need. Jobs may be structured to fit your academic timetable.
Eligibility/Criteria:
- You must qualify for, and receive, OSAP funding for the current year.
- You must be an Ontario resident.
- You must be registered in at least 3 courses (60% course load) each term.
- You must demonstrate financial need.
- You are allowed to make a total of $2000 on the OWSP program (total of all OWSP jobs).
Process:
- No OWSP application is required. All students receiving OSAP are automatically eligible for the OWSP program.
- You will be given an "OWSP authorization" card, when you pick up the first portion of your OSAP funding in September.
- Once approved, you are eligible for any OWSP position posted on the Trent Job Board.
- Hiring departments will arrange their own interviews. Bring your eligibility card with you to the interview, and provide a copy for your employer.
LWSP - Library Work Study Program
The Library Work Study Program provides part-time jobs on campus - to fit your academic timetable.
Eligibility/Criteria:
- You must be a Canadian resident.
- You must be registered in at least 3 courses (60% course load) each term.
- You must demonstrate financial need.
- You are allowed to make a total of $2000 on the LWSP program (total of all LWSP jobs).
Process for Out of Province Students:
- Complete the LWSP application. Download now.
- Bring the completed application to the Financial Aid Office. If approved, you will be given an "LWSP authorization" card, which you must produce at all LWSP position interviews.
- Once approved, you may apply for any LWSP position posted on My Job Board
- Hiring departments will arrange their own interviews.
Process for Ontario Students :
- No application is required. All students receiving OSAP are automatically eligible for the program.
- You will be given an "authorization" card, when you pick up the first portion of your OSAP funding in September.
- Once approved, you are eligible for any LWSP position posted on My Job Board
- Hiring departments will arrange their own interviews. Bring your eligibility card with you to the interview.
TIP - Trent International Subsidy Program
The TIP program provides subsidies for on-campus part-time jobs for International students. To be eligible you must have a valid 'study permit. Positions are posted on My Job Board, typically in September. TIP students can also apply to any regular on-campus job (i.e. not TIP funded, not OWSP funded).
Off-campus Jobs
If you ar looking for off-campus jobs during the school year or after you graduate, all postings the Career Centre hears about are posted on My Job Board . Off-campus jobs are listed there under the "External" tab. Also, check out our links for government and other job boards. Don't forget to attend the Employment Fair. This is a great opportunity to meet employers and apply for positions. Still need help, attend one of our resume or work search workshops.
Summer Jobs

Graduate Year Recruitment
Graduate year recruitment, sometimes referred to as on-campus recruitment, normally consists of positions of a professional nature. Graduate year recruitment begins early in your graduating year, so be sure to start your work search as soon as you arrive back at school in September. If you leave it until a couple of months before you graduate, you will miss out on a lot of opportunities.
Employers use various methods to recruit graduates which include conducting information sessions on campus to inform students of their opportunities, setting up displays, and conducting first-interviews on campus. Keep an eye on the Career Centre News for upcoming employer visits and events on campus.
Remember to attend the Employment Fair in the January.
