On Friday, April 4 from 4:00-5:00 p.m., Trent University celebrates its 9th Last Lecture event, created in 2015 by Jamie Lester, an Otonabee College alum and former Cabinet President. Lester's aim was to unite the graduating class before convocation, fostering celebration and reminiscence of their time at Trent – now an annual tradition that continues to expand.
The Last Lecture provides graduating students (but open to all!) an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on their university experiences and achievements, featuring speeches from a graduating student, distinguished alum, and a staff and faculty member, each sharing personal reflections and wisdom under a unifying theme.
This year's esteemed speakers are:
- Student speaker: Paris Amery, fourth-year Forensics & Anthropology specializing in Bioarchaeology with an option in Pre-Medical Studies
- Faculty speaker: Professor Eric Sager, Trent School of the Environment
- Staff speaker: Susan Thompson, Academic Skills Instructor
- Alumni speaker: Jessica Ferguson ('91)
Please register in advance as seating is limited. We look forward to seeing you there!
