After studying in the United States for six years, Michael returned to his home town of Peterborough, Ontario, in 1995 to serve as a Chief Financial Officer of an investment dealer firm.

Michael began his academic career in 2001 when Trent University offered him a position teaching financial and management accounting. Michael’s current research interests include entrepreneurial learning and family business.

In addition to his academic degrees, he is also qualified as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
