Experience New Student Orientation!

New Student Orientation (NSO) sessions are held throughout the year, and are an opportunity for new students to visit campus for a day and attend a variety of presentations and information sessions designed to help new students and their families with their transition to university.

There are NSO sessions throughout the summer for students starting at Trent in the fall semester, and there is one NSO session in January for students beginning in the winter semester.

At NSO, students will have the opportunity to learn about:

      • Registering for courses ( information on course selection)
      • Time management
      • Making academic decisions
      • What to expect when you arrive in September
      • Student life, campus clubs and groups, athletics, and more!

Also, students will have the chance to meet with an academic advisor, talk to representatives from housing services about residence, take a tour of the colleges and see their residence if they plan to live on campus!

Each student is asked to take part in one New Student Orientation session during the summer.

Check back here in May of 2015 for the NSO dates!

The New Student Orientation Drop-In is targeted especially for new students who want to focus on course registration. While our regular New Student Orientation day includes other important and beneficial information, the Drop-In focuses solely on course registration questions.

At a New Student Information Drop-In session, you will be joined by a New Student Orientation staff member, as well as a Senior Tutor. They will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding how to register for courses.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION DROP-IN WILL BEGIN June 24, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

It will run every Tuesday and Wednesday until August 27, 2014.

Location: Otonabee College, Computer Lab (Signs will be posted throughout the college to guide you)
