Students Explore Further Education Opportunities
Trent Career Centre hosts annual graduate and professional school expo
The gymnasium in Trent University’s Athletics Centre was bustling on Wednesday, October 5 for the annual Graduate and Professional School Expo, where upper-year students gathered to connect with representatives from graduate and professional schools from around the world. Trent University’s Career Centre hosted recruiters from over 40 programs which provided students and new graduates with an opportunity to explore options for further education.
“Connecting one-on-one with recruiters from the programs I’m currently applying to absolutely made me feel more prepared and confident in my graduate school applications,” says Nolan Blodgett, upper year Psychology student at Trent University. “I loved the aspect of talking to an actual person about my interest in the program. It allows you to gain valuable and unique tips about the program and the application process that you can’t get from simply reading the website.”
In addition to recruiters from graduate and professional schools, this event brought together multiple representatives from Trent University’s Career Centre, Alumni Affairs, and Graduate Studies to answer students’ questions about graduate school. As a result, not only were students able to learn more about specific programs, but they were given the opportunity to discuss general questions about graduate and professional school applications, scholarship and funding opportunities, as well as, receive tips from alumni on how to navigate the graduate school process.
