Meet a Trent Durham Student: Don-Pierre Burnett
“When I first arrived at Trent last year, I joined a couple of clubs just to try and meet a few people. By second semester I was so involved in Trent’s campus life that it felt like I already knew half of the people here,” recalls Don-Pierre Burnett, Trent Durham second-year Business major.
After transferring to Trent Durham from another university, Mr. Burnett discovered that engaging in on-campus activities, attending events and making campus life a priority has really shaped his university experience.
“This year, I am the co-president of a new club on campus called the Trent Durham Student Wellness Association. It's a social/support club aimed at giving all students a place where they can come hang out, meet new people, start to get involved and feel supported – the goal is to ensure that students are seeking out opportunities for growth and wellness in their experiences at school.”
Rounding out his campus involvement, Mr. Burnett is also a student ambassador, touring prospective Trent students through campus during open house events and, earlier this month, he served as an Orientation leader during Trent Durham’s Orientation Week activities. “I’d say that I’m really busy every day, but it helps me to stay focused on school, plus, it’s all just really fun!”
