Lady Eaton College, South Mechanical Rooms Asbestos Removal
A message from Facilities Management
On Monday, July 25, 2016, D&F Insulation Ltd., under the supervision of Ameresco Canada, on behalf of Trent University, will be engaged in the safe removal of asbestos from the mechanical room in Lady Eaton College, South. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, July 29, 2016. This work is being performed in advance of a major mechanical project that will take place in this mechanical room, shortly.
D&F Insulation Ltd. is an experienced and qualified contractor in the area of asbestos abatement. They will implement all safety and containment measures required under the Occupational Health & Safety Act while performing this removal process within the mechanical rooms.
Given that this work is confined to just this mechanical room, there will be no evidence of this work being carried out in regular work areas. Similarly, there is no exposure risk to other work areas within these buildings given the location of the work, and the legislated safety and containment measures undertaken. All Trent employees who may have regular access to these mechanical rooms have been notified that the space will be restricted. Signage will be in place to indicate that these areas are not to be accessed until all removal and testing has been performed.
Thanks for your patience while we implement the Energy Performance Project initiatives over the next 18 months. Not only will this project significantly reduce Trent’s annual energy consumption, it will also result in reduced annual utilities costs for years to come.
