Planned Campus-Wide Power Outage at Trent University Scheduled for May 7
10-hour electrical shutdown for Symons Campus for annual servicing and repair; Trent Athletics Centre will be closed
For annual electrical servicing and repair, a campus-wide electrical shutdown will take place on Trent University’s Symons Campus on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m.
As a result of the shutdown, all buildings and spaces on both sides of the East and West Bank, will be impacted, including the Trent Athletics Centre, which will be closed to the public for the day. No events are scheduled at the University during the planned outage.For annual electrical servicing and repair, a campus-wide electrical shutdown will take place on Trent University’s Symons Campus on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m.
The Champlain Annex Residence on Water Street and the Traill Campus in downtown Peterborough will not be impacted by this shutdown, nor will the Trent Sports Fields on the East Bank of campus.
Necessary for the annual servicing and repair of major electrical components, this shutdown will assist Facilities Management in maintaining a safe and reliable work and study environment throughout the year. Additionally, during the shutdown, enhanced electrical metering associated with Trent’s Energy Performance Project will be installed.
Access to all University buildings and facilities at the Symons Campus during the shutdown will not be permitted. Campus Security services will be active on campus during the shutdown.
