Business Administration and Indigenous Studies

For Business Administration and Indigenous Studies graduate Victoria Girard, coming to Trent provided an opportunity to discover her roots.

“I always knew I had Aboriginal ancestry and I have enjoyed having the opportunity to learn more about it, the landscape of it, the language and the way the community is structured within itself,” she says.

After learning about Trent at the University Fair in Toronto, Victoria was inspired by the picturesque campus when she came for a campus tour. She recalls, “Walking through campus, seeing Enweying. Every building was so unique. This is the place for me.”

During her time at Trent, Victoria participated in the annual Elders conferences, and the Curve Lake and Hamilton Powows. Proud to now have an undergraduate degree, Victoria says she can now “accomplish anything I want.”
