“I love to learn – about anything,” explains Natalie Frost, a new graduate of English Literature at Trent University Oshawa. “Not just through scholarly education or reading, but also through experience.”

In choosing the University’s Oshawa campus to pursue her studies, Natalie says, “I chose Trent in Oshawa because of the convenient location and opportunity to attend an excellent University without relocating or commuting. As a mature student I was able to complete my degree while working full-time and at a pace that agreed with my hectic lifestyle.”

A top scholar, Natalie attributes some of her success to the support she received from the faculty and the small class sizes at Trent in Oshawa. Describing the effectiveness of the environment and staff, she explains: “The time I spent in small groups or on an individual basis with me professors was invaluable, and the time devoted to the students by the faculty appears to be limitless.”

While attending Trent in Oshawa, Natalie had the honour of being asked to participate as a panelist for Trent Research Day in Oshawa. “I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate and recognize the benefits such an experience will lend to my future plans,” says Natalie.

Continuing her passion for learning, Natalie is now enrolled in the M.A. in English (Public Texts) program at Trent. After completing her Masters, she hopes to either continue on in academic to pursue a Ph.D. or to find a career in which she can utilize her love of reading, writing, and learning.

“The encouragement I have received from the Trent professors has been life changing,” Natalie says. “I will owe my future endeavors to their support and guidance.”
