After graduating from Trent, this Psychology major and Bagnani Medal winner from Trent University in Oshawa will start a new life journey – parenthood.

Why did you choose Trent?

I chose to complete my studies at Trent because of all that the university has to offer. Trent University, with its small, intimate classes, is known for exceptional individual focus. Secondly, Trent offers a very flexible program option, with hours and a location that really worked for me. As well, with Lakefield being my hometown, it was important for me to study at a university I feel a real connection to.

How would you describe yourself? How would others describe you? What are your passions in life?

I’ve always had a great passion for helping others which led to my career as a Registered Massage Therapist. I also have real love for education, both learning as much as I can and sharing that knowledge with others. After much reflection, it was these attributes that led me to want to teach. Although I can be a classic introvert at times, those who know me would (hopefully) describe me as approachable, caring and genuine.

What has your time at Trent meant to you? What are some of your favourite memories? What will you take with you from Trent?

Trent gave me a real opportunity to succeed and fulfill a lifelong dream of earning a university degree. My favourite memories will always be the professors who mentored me in this journey and the friends I have met along the way.

What are your future plans and aspirations? What do you hope to accomplish?

My husband and I are expecting our first child in July so my immediate plans are set. I am looking forward to staying at home and raising respectful, upstanding children that our society needs. As for 5-10 years from now, I hope to further my education in some capacity, although my focus right now is on my family.
