Business Administration
An international student with a passion for music, Emmanuel Lepoutre is hoping to find a way to combine is love of music with a career in business.

Why did you choose Trent?

I liked the fact that I would not be taken for granted and how personable the program seemed to be.

Tell me about yourself. How would others describe you? What are your passions in life?

My biggest passion is art. My current career will provide a solid platform to mix and incorporate art into the business realm. This is how I will find a balance. Another thing that I treasure in life above all is causing others to smile. Personally, I believe that the days we choose not to laugh are lost forever. I feel that part of my existence is intended to make people around me comfortable. This is how I express love to the people I care for.

Have you been involved in any clubs, groups, and/or sports (specify varsity vs. intramural) at Trent? If so, which ones?(Please include Study Abroad opportunities here)

Every single year I have been able to participate in the soccer intramurals. This year, I also participated in the squash recreational league. I have had the opportunity to travel to France in my third year of studies. I also belong to HOLA.

What has your time at Trent meant to you? What are some of your favourite memories? What will you take with you from Trent?

My time here in Trent has been one of transformation. Thanks to Trent I have had the opportunity to meet people from amazing backgrounds. More than my business education (which I loved), I have been able to learn from every single person I have met.

Studying in a foreign country has made me strong, independent and wiser. It has allowed me to develop a good sense of the importance of friendship and companionship. It has also expanded my horizons and has allowed me to go to places in Europe.

When I think about it, two favourite moments come to my mind. I came to Trent with two of my best friends and when we first arrived we had no idea of how things worked in university. We did not know about WebCT, our schedules, what classes to take, we did not know how to register to courses, it was chaos. One month of excessive laughter and of figuring things out, made our experience even greater. My second memory relates one specific season. SPRING. Everyone goes out, chills in Bata library and enjoy of the sun. That experience is amazing after four months of snow.

What are your future plans and aspirations? What do you hope to accomplish?

I cannot tell you that. The only thing I can tell is that I am going to try as hard as I can to make use of the tools Trent has given me.
