Campaign Well Underway

Ana Lopes, David Wallbridge, Lawrence Finn

Trent's General Campaign Cabinet has approved a logo for Trent's $17-million campaign, following nearly one year of market research and community consultation. Shown helping unload materials for the "Beyond Our Walls" drive, are Ana Lopes, member of the General Campaign Cabinet and Trent's Board of Governors and chair of Campaign Communications, David Wallbridge, member of the General Campaign Cabinet and President of the Trent Central Students' Association, and Lawrence Finn, logo designer with Lawrence Finn and Associates and a Peterborough native. Campaign leadership gift solicitation and volunteer leadership enlistment continues. The public launch of the campaign is planned for October in Peterborough and Toronto.

Campaign Director Mike McClintock explains that many elements inspired Finn's logo. "The tree logo conveys a sense of balance between many important elements in our community: between our traditions and our future, between the humanities and the sciences, between nature and technology. The tree emphasizes the long-term health, stability, and growth of our institution, and highlights the importance we give to our beautiful natural environment." McClintock adds that "many of the projects in the campaign are about building on program strengths and extending the reach of Trent's activities...beyond our walls, to the Peterborough community, to the local region, to the rest of Canada and the world."
