Brent Wootton

 

Brent Wootton '99

Director of Applied Research, Fleming College

Brent Wootton has worked extensively with government, industry, and community groups on environmental projects. His research interests include the design and functioning of treatment wetlands and the application of alternative technologies in rural settings and in small communities. He is currently Senior Scientist for the Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment at Fleming College, Chair of the Water Technology Acceleration Project, serves on the UN Wastewater Task Force, and is the Director of Applied Research for Fleming College.

Ray Dart

Professor Dart teaches in the Environmental and Resources Studies Department and the Business Administration Department. He received the Excellence in Education Award for Promotion of Sustainable Practices in the 2009-2010 academic year at Trent. His research focuses on organizational and community interaction - environmental, social, and international development, community businesses, community learning processes, innovation, strategy development, and improving effectiveness.

Chair and CEO, Northwater Capital

 

Northwater Capital provides asset management to institutional investors and high net worth individuals. As the company’s founder, Mr. Patterson is respected at the executive level of many of the largest pension plans in the world for his adeptness in creating solutions to seemingly intractable investment problems. Mr. Patterson and the Drain-Patterson families established the first endowed Chair at Trent, the Kenneth Mark Drain Chair in Ethics. The Endowment celebrates Trent’s commitment to the humanities and critical thinking and is housed within the Philosophy Department.

Dr. Zohar’s research examines the processes and enabling conditions that promote the translation of visions and missions of sustainability into successful organizing strategies and actions. He has played a leadership role in introducing sustainability into both undergraduate and graduate programs at Trent. Dr. Zohar is the founding National Chair of Canadian Academics for Peace in the Middle East, an organization governed and driven by academics, committed to academic freedom and integrity, and to promoting nuanced and academically rigorous debate on issues related to the Middle East.

Allison Rippin-Armstrong

 

Allison Rippin-Armstrong '84

Director of Lands and Environment, Kaminak Gold Company

 

Ms. Allison Rippin-Armstrong is experienced in permitting, regulatory processes and environmental compliance working with First Nations, resource companies, Institutions of Public Government (IPGs) and the Federal Government of Canada. She has worked in jurisdictions such as NWT, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario successfully permitting projects from grassroots exploration through to the final steps of water licensing for mines.
