Mr. Johnston has held diverse positions in education and politics. These include federal public servant, political organizer, community provider of services to the elderly, MPP (Scarborough West, 1979-90), Executive Head of Ontario Council of Regents, President of the First Nations Technical Institute, and President of Centennial College. Since 1999, Mr. Johnston has been pioneering in Ontario’s newest wine region of Prince Edward County. 
Leo GroarkePresident and Vice-Chancellor, Trent University
Dr. Groarke is Trent’s eighth President and Vice-Chancellor, joining the university in July 2014, having served in various capacities at Wilfrid Laurier University and University of Windsor. At Laurier, Dr. Groarke spearheaded the development of a new and highly successful downtown campus in Brantford, Ontario, as documented in his book Reinventing Brantford, A University Comes Downtown. Dr. Groarke’s areas of research and scholarly interest include ancient philosophy, the history of ideas, social and political philosophy, informal logic and argumentation theory. Ms. Lister has held senior roles in Canada’s charitable sector since 1986. Prior to joining the Royal Ontario Museum as President and CEO of the ROM Board of Governors in 2011, she was the Vice President, External Relations and Advancement for Trent University. Ms. Lister was the first Canadian to receive the prestigious International Fundraising Executive of the Year award in 2002. In September 2011, she was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence. 
Kathryn NorlockKenneth Mark Drain Endowed Chair in Ethics and Chair of Philosophy, Trent UniversityDr. Norlock writes and teaches on ethics, feminist philosophy, environmental philosophy, and sociopolitical issues. Upon appointment as the Drain Chair in Philosophy, she said “Establishing an endowed chair in ethics shows Trent’s commitment to the importance of thinking excellently and critically about the most fundamental questions of our lives and our shared responsibilities.”  Robin V. Mr. Sears has been a national political commentator and strategist for more than three decades. He was National Director of the NDP for seven years and Assistant General Secretary of the Socialist International, the world’s largest community of political parties. He has advised leaders in Europe, Southern Africa, and the Middle East on strategic issues, and was Ontario’s chief trade diplomat in Asia, managing a network of seven offices.
