Trent University Invites Prospective Students to Spring Open House on April 4

Highlights Include Opening Remarks by Dr. Roberta Bondar and Tours of New Crime Scene House

Prospective students considering Trent University and their friends and families will enjoy a full roster of events showcasing the Trent experience during the Spring Open House on Saturday, April 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students will have a chance to meet internationally-renowned space scientist and University Chancellor Dr. Roberta Bondar who will be delivering welcoming remarks together with Trent President Bonnie Patterson. Widely acclaimed for her engaging presentation style, Dr. Bondar is renowned for her ability to inspire others and as both an artist and scientist brings an original perspective to students as they consider attending Trent University. In addition to being Trent’s ninth Chancellor, Dr. Bondar is best known as a neurologist, Canada’s first woman astronaut, author and an award-winning landscape photographer.

Prospective students interested in learning more about the top quality academic environment at Trent will have a chance to meet faculty and representatives from student services; attend an Academic, Student Services and Clubs and Groups Fair; take part in sample lectures from various academic disciplines; and join in a campus tour highlighting residences, academic space, and the athletics and recreation centre; and enjoy dining on-campus during a complimentary lunch. The Trent/Fleming School of Nursing will also be offering tours of their Learning Labs and demonstrations throughout the day.

Students interested in Forensic Science will have a chance to explore Trent’s new crime scene house. This realistic learning environment provides students with opportunities to combine theory and practice while developing skills in forensic casework.

Representatives will also be on hand to discuss Trent’s recently announced free tuition offer to students entering university with a 90%+ grade average. There will also be information sessions throughout the day to learn more about study abroad opportunities, housing, student life, and financial aid.
